How excited are you to be back on tour?
You get to the point where you wonder if it’s ever going to happen so knowing the dates are in the diary is exciting.
There’s nothing like touring live in different cities, not knowing all the fun, spontaneous, unpredictable moments that are about to happen with the audiences.
That’s why I do this. It’s an absolute joy. I think we’re all ready to get back to that.
You must be glad that theatres and live venues are opening at full capacity again?
I always thought that theatres and music venues would be the very last thing to open because you can’t really socially distance easily so it’s a relief to see them open again and how enthusiastic people are to get out again.
How have you been masked and kilted?
Thankfully I’m getting back to being kilted and on stage again. I keep telling myself the mask makes me feel like Zorro. And if you can make it match your outfit, it fair brightens yer day.
Has lockdown been tough on the sporran?
I was amazed during lockdown how much you don’t spend when you don’t go oot the hoose. That and learning to cook with Gousto got me through it – I was Mr Microwave before that.
Have you carried on roaming on your bike? And how important has that been for your mental health?
