The culprits never enter their home, they said, as their house and car keys were attached together and inside the door lock.
Speaking to Edinburgh Live, Nazima said: “We are just completely shaken up honestly. It happened right outside of our driveway. It’s just so frustrating and came as a complete shock to us. They broke into our front door, took the keys and took our car.
“It must have happened in the early hours of the morning, after 1.30am and before 6am. They didn’t come right into our home but they have done the lock in and taken the keys to the vehicle so they could get to the car.
“They pulled the lock and we think they removed the drum. The car keys were on the lock and we know they didn’t come into the house otherwise our alarm would have gone off. They were just so tactical about it. We do normally leave our keys in the door but turn it so nobody can enter but they obviously had their ways of how to get in.”
Nazima believes the thieves must have casing the area before attempting to break in.
