Country stars to perform at home as CBS announces replacement special for postponed ACM Awards

Castmembers from various productions of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical banded together for a socially distanced performance of Carole King's "You've Got a Friend." The video, which was made to raise awareness and funds for The Actors Fund in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, premiered Tuesday on CBS This Morning. The performance features King herself, along with Chilina Kennedy, Abby Mueller and Tony winner Jessie Mueller, among others, singing from inside their homes.

A yet-to-be revealed list of famous guests will perform at-home acoustic performances for the CBS special, scheduled to air 8 p.m.

Self-isolation and social distancing do not mean you can’t enjoy live music.

Days after announcing that this year’s ACM Awards telecast would be postponed from April 5 until September, the Academy of Country Music and Dick Clark Productions announced Thursday that they would be filling two hours of that abandoned time slot with a special called “ACM Presents: Our Country,” featuring at-home acoustic performances from some of the genre’s top stars.
