Costco cake customer in stitches after icing instructions taken too literally

A Costco customer was left in fits of laughter after the supermarket baker took their instructions for a custom cake a little too literally.
The superstore's cakes are renowned for being incredibly tasty and fairly priced. And with the ability to order colourful messages in the icing, it is no surprise that many people have used the service.
But one punter had their order misrepresented in hilarious fashion. Thankfully, they saw the funny side, Daily Star reports.
They placed an order for a half sheet cake, with a vanilla cheesecake filling, to serve 48 people. They did not want any special message on the cake and asked for "no writing" and "no designs".
Their only custom request was for "red frosting on the perimeter for top/bottom", rather than the traditional white. To make sure this was understood, they even drew a small diagram outlining how they wanted the red icing piped along the edges of the cake.
But despite their best efforts to make the order as foolproof as possible, things didn't turn out quite as expected. When they opened the box they were met with a white cake, including white piping at the edge.
Slap bang on top of the cake, however, the baker had used red icing to recreate the diagram the customer had used to help them.
Fortunately, they saw the funny side and shared a picture of the blunder on Reddit. In the r/funny forum, they wrote: "Costco will give you exactly what you know you didn't need."
The post received over 100,000 upvotes, with dozens of people flocking to the comments to share their opinion on the situation.
