North Carolina metal band Corrosion of Conformity announced on Tuesday (Jan. 28) that drummer Reed Mullin has passed away at age 53."It’s with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to a friend, a brother and pioneer.

Reed Mullin, drummer and cofounder of long-running North Carolina hard rock outfit Corrosion of Conformity, has died, according to a social media posts from the band, fellow musicians and many of the friends he had made in the music world over the years. He was 53.

Sean Reinert, the pioneering drummer behind several death metal groups, including Cynic and Death, has died. He was 48.
