The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health confirmed 44 additional deaths related to COVID-19 and 1,011 new confirmed cases in the county on Saturday.
These latest figures bring the coronavirus toll to 31,197 cases and 1,512 fatalities, according to the health department website.

Harvey Weinstein's extradition to Los Angeles to face an additional set of sex crime charges has been delayed, according to reports. A spokesman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has reportedly confirmed that the coronavirus pandemic is the reason for the delay.

An additional 47 people have died in Los Angeles County from COVID-19 illness over the past 24 hours for a total of 1,755 deaths thus far in the pandemic, it was announced Friday. With residents having increased access to testing in recent weeks, more than 282,000 residents have been tested and 11 percent have tested positive.
