South by Southwest, a film, music, television, and interactive conference that takes place in Austin, Texas, has been cancelled for the first time in 34 years due to fears over the coronavirus.
Austin Mayor Steve Adler made the announcement Friday saying, “Based on the recommendation of our public health officer and our director of public health, and after our consultation with the city manager, I’ve gone ahead and declared a local disaster in the city.”
