Coronavirus cases in South Carolina see record single-day high

The 2021 Grammy Awards has been postponed. The award show will now take place in March after the recent surge in coronavirus cases and deaths, the Recording Academy told The Associated Press on Tuesday.

Arizona is seeing the highest rate of new coronavirus cases in the U.S., according to data compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which shows an average of 121.8 new illnesses per 100,000 people over the last seven days. California is tracking second, with a rate of 97.1 per 100,000, followed by Tennessee, South Carolina, and then Kansas.

A South Carolina man accused of setting his girlfriend on fire has turned himself in after deputies issued a warrant for his arrest. Larry Dean Brown, Jr., 28, allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and poured gasoline on her before setting her on fire.

Daily new coronavirus cases in Maine reached a record high this week, with the state recording some 554 cases on Tuesday alone.
