Halloween is fast approaching - but it doesn’t have to be the spookiest night of the year to scare the wits out of us on our favourite cobbled street.
Over the years, we've witnessed some shocking, frightening and at times creepy moments on ITV's Coronation Street. From characters' gruesome deaths to spine-tingling threats, there have been so many stand out scenes such as ‘Norman Bates with a Briefcase’, Richard Hillman and his reign of terror over the cobbles, and the demise of much-loved barmaid Tina McIntyre.

We've delved into the past to revisit some of the creepiest moments to take place on the cobbles in years gone by. Some of the characters involved have come and gone, but these storylines remain in our memories.

The nation gasped when the feisty barmaid played by Michelle Keegan was pushed from the building yard balcony by nasty Rob Donovan, after she found out that he and Tracy Barlow were selling illegal stock. But there was a double shock when Tina turned out to be alive.
And Rob silenced her by picking up a metal pipe and repeatedly beat her with it. Tina later suffered a heart attack and attempts to resuscitate her in hospital failed.
Bubbly Maxine Peacock was slaughtered by Gail’s husband Richard Hillman, who had originally planned to kill elderly Emily Bishop while she was babysitting for Maxine and Ashley. But when Maxine returned home alone early from her mum’s birthday celebrations
