Lucy Fallon has been speaking about the change in her mental health after giving birth, opening up about her increase in anxiety levels now she’s looking after a tiny baby. The actress, known for her role as Bethany Platt in the ITV soap, gave birth to her son, Sonny Jude, back in January. She recently spoke about the labour, revealing that she was induced early, which resulted in a vacuum cup being used to help welcome Sonny Jude into the world.
Appearing on Loose Women, Lucy said: ‘He’s really good, he is. We don’t get as much sleep as we used to do, obviously. But he is actually really good.
’Lucy was on gas and air ‘for ages’ and added she made ‘a lot of noise. ’On the daytime show, she continued: ‘I am actually fine, I am genuinely. Obviously it’s a massive life change, it’s huge!‘Looking back, it could’ve been a lot worse,’ she reflected.
‘I’d made a full birth playlist that I wanted to be played but that went out of the window!’Now, Lucy has turned her focus to how much a mum’s mental health can change after they give birth, especially for the first time. ‘The thing I’ve struggled with the most is the anxiety that comes with being a mum. I question everything I do every single day and I am honestly winging the life out of it.
‘But we are here and we’re having a gorgeous time. Sending love and positive vibes, we all got this. ’Following her departure from Corrie, Lucy is about to star in a four part ITV drama, Tom Jones, alongside Ted Lasso star, Hannah Waddingham.
