The countdown is on as Coronation Street favourites Chesney Brown and Gemma Winter tie the knot. There will be four very special guests attending the Weatherfield ceremony - their four children - Aled, Bryn, Lilo and Carys - who are quadruplets. The Winter-Brown kids have become a fixture on the cobbles, but viewers have been left wondering if the siblings are really quadruplets in real life.
Away from the screen, the lookalike actors are not quadruplets, but rather a mix of twins and triplets who have been used interchangeably in the roles over the years. Prosthetic babies were initially used to portray the Winter-Brown siblings due to their premature births.
From December 2019 to June 2020, the quads were all played by twins Charlotte & James Holt and triplets Arthur, Lily & Lucy Taylor. The characters were then absent until January 2022 due to restrictions imposed on child actors in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. Since then, Charlotte Holt and Lily & Lucy Taylor have continued to play the roles of Gemma and Chesney's daughters, Lilo and Carys.
Since June 2021, Aled's character is played by deaf child actor Joseph Woods, while his brother Bryn is played interchangeably by James Holt and Arthur Taylor. The quadruplets became a part of the Coronation Street storyline when less than a year after Gemma and Chesney started dating, she fell pregnant - something which placed an added pressure on the couple’s relationship and even briefly lead them to split up for a short time.
