Coronation Street has confirmed what's really wrong with Joseph Brown after stepmum Gemma Winter-Brown was suspected of faking his ill health. It's been months now since Gemma was stopped seeing her children unattended after accidentally posining the youngster.
It came after Gemma had been convinced that her stepson is really ill, despite doctors saying that wasn't the case and having a word with Chesney about his wife with him seemingly putting down her concerns down to her own mental health struggles. However, Joseph continued to tell Gemma he wasn't well ;leaving her sceptica, due to being aware she overreacted the last time.
But in scenes aired back in November, when Chesney was called out of work to pick him up from school, he berated Gemma for not realising he was ill. On the advice of her mum Bernie, Gemma made Joseph drink lavender tea in the hope it would perk him up. But when Joseph passed out, Chesney was horrified and called an ambulance. Later, at the hospital, it was confirmed that Joseph had been poisoned.

A penny then dropped with Gemma, telling the doctor she had made Joseph a lavender tea. It wasn't until Bernie headed out and returned with the lavender that Gemma realised her mistake, revealing she had used an essential oil in the water she gave Joseph, unaware that she should have infused the water with lavender.
And while she insisted it was an accident, the hospital contacted social services and Gemma was forced to leave the family home and only able to see Joseph and her Quads when supervised. However, things are set to
