A new series about late Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is in the works, and a prominent comedian is set to take the lead.
As reported Tuesday by Variety, the American network AMC will air the dark comedy series about Ford’s rise and fall as Toronto councillor and mayor of Canada’s largest city.
Stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan has reportedly been recruited to portray Ford in the series, which will be written and executive-produced by Toronto-born writer Jesse McKeown.
