Former Rixton frontman Jake Roche and son of Coleen Nolan revealed he’s on Universal Credit in a candid interview on TikTok. Coleen shares son Jake with ex-husband and EastEnders star Shane Ritchie. Chatting to content creator known as Sugapuff on the popular video sharing platform, Jake, 30, was asked what he’s up to at the moment.
“I’m on Universal Credit and I live with my mum in her garage,” said Jake before going on to label himself as “a failure”. Sugapuff quickly shut him down however, and insisted that he wasn’t a failure and told the 30 year old to “get better, whatever you’re going through”. He captioned the video: “Jake Roche gave me permission to post this.
Asked him afew times that is he sure? He said, yes. Hope Jake gets to where he wants to be in the future. HE CAN DO IT!” People have since applauded the TikTok creator for his kind words to Jake and shared their warm wishes to the singer.
“You're a legend for saying that. He has talent and it will prevail,” wrote one person, as someone else said: “Aw no, Jake is absolutely not a failure, we all go through rough times, I hope things pick up for him, I loved his band Rixton when they were big!” “Your such a lovely person. Great words,” said another TikTok-user.
Jake's now part of a group titled Push Baby alongside fellow Rixton member Charley Bagnall. At the height of his fame, Jake was dating former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson and even popped the question to the Wings singer in 2015.Things weren’t meant to be between the pair however, with them calling time on their relationship just a year later. Speaking after their break-up, Jesy said it was “awful”.
