Philippe Clement went 'absolutely mental' at Cyriel Dessers - even with Rangers right on the brink of a comfortable Viaplay Cup win.
That's according to Michael Stewart who spotted the Ibrox boss going tonto over the striker's workrate in the dying stages. Rangers cruised to a 3-1 victory over Hearts to set up a return trip to Hampden to face Aberdeen next month. By the time Dessers came off the bench, the damage was already done, James Tavernier scoring either side of Scott Wright's strike to seal a comfortable win.
But even despite the cushion Clement demanded his team keep the tempo up and was seen frustrated at a few sideways and backwards passes. And according to Stewart, who was on commentary for Viaplay, sub Dessers got a particular earful from his boss. Speaking as the game ticked into stoppage time, Stewart said: "If you look at Clement, he's going absolutely mental at Cyriel Dessers. It's the 90th minute and he still wants him to run."
The boss though was only complimentary about his players after the game as he kept any frustrations he did have for inside the dressing room. He told the media: “The most pleasing thing was the way the team played. We were dominate the whole game and created a lot of chances.
"We had three goals and good attacks but we could have scored much more than that and you see the team growing game by game. You see the players understanding the way we want to play more and more so we get a bigger squad which will be important to be competitive in four competitions.”

Todd Gilchrist editor Wes Anderson’s “Asteroid City” is a nesting doll of a film—a television broadcast of a documentary about a play, assembled with the same precision and detail as Anderson’s “The Royal Tenenbaums,” “The Grand Budapest Hotel” and “The French Dispatch” among others. Thematically, the connective tissue between its layers of reality, like many of those earlier films, is the notion and processing of loss.
