Charlotte Crosby says her former Geordie Shore co-star Marnie Simpson’s “awful labour” has convinced her to have a C-section to welcome her baby girl. Charlotte, who is in her third trimester and is due to welcome a little one with her boyfriend Jake Ankers later this year, recently celebrated her impending arrival with a star-studded baby shower at her Newcastle home. And the reality star says after speaking to Marnie, who is mum to sons Rox, two, and Oax, three months, about motherhood and her birthing experiences, she decided to have a caesarean.
Speaking exclusively to new! magazine, Charlotte, 32, also said that her scary experience with an ectopic pregnancy left her with post-traumatic stress and put her off having a natural birth. “It was really good to see Marnie at the baby shower because I don’t get to see her that often,” she says. “I see Sophie [Kasaei] more than I see my own mum! Marnie and I got the chance to bond over the fact I was pregnant and she’s given me so much amazing advice.” Marnie, 30, needed two blood transfusions after her 28-hour labour with baby Rox, having lost two pints, and opted for a C-section with Oax, who was born in May.
“Marnie had that awful labour which went horrifically wrong and she had a planned C-section with her second baby,” says Charlotte. “She said it was a completely and utterly amazing experience compared with what she went through before. "She said she couldn’t believe how magical it was.
I’ve never really been keen to push a baby out of my vagina. I’m too scared to have a natural birth. “There’s always been something scary about it for me and when I had the ectopic pregnancy it scared me even more.
