Charlotte Crosby is over the moon to be eight months pregnant with her baby girl she shares with boyfriend Jake Ankers. And as she celebrated her baby shower with OK!, the star also reflected on her 2016 ectopic pregnancy, and explains how it's made her feel understandably apprehensive. The expectant mum says her worries mean she's planning a C-section for the upcoming birth and admits she still suffers with post traumatic stress after the life-threatening ordeal.
“When you’ve had an ectopic pregnancy, you’re at high risk of another,” the 32 year old explained. “When I found out I was pregnant, we happened to be in London as Jake had taken us away for Valentine’s Day and the first thing I did was see my gynaecologist, who’s based in London, for a scan to check everything was OK. I was three weeks pregnant.
When we saw the tiny little round seed in the womb, it was such a relief. She continued: "To be told in hospital [during the ectopic pregnancy] you’re pregnant but almost on the verge of dying and you need to be taken straight onto a ward to have emergency surgery, it was so much to take in – I couldn’t process any of it and I think I have post-traumatic stress from it. It has scared me so much that I don’t want to risk anything going wrong again.” At her baby shower Charlotte was joined by former Geordie Shore pals Sophie Kasaei, Holly Hagan and Marnie Simpson.
And Marnie, who recently became a mum for the second time to son Oax, gave Charlotte "so much amazing advice" about giving birth at the bash. Charlotte said: “Marnie had that awful labour and she had a planned C-section with her second baby. She said it was a completely amazing experience compared with what she went through before.
