Charlie Cox Debates If Lighter, PG-13 Daredevil Will Work in MCU: ‘It Has to Be More Mature’

The 94th Oscars celebration has officially kicked off with the official red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

After directing multiple episodes of his Netflix series “Master Of None,” including all of season three, comedian Aziz Ansari (“Parks & Rec“) is making his feature film directorial debut for Searchlight Pictures. The film is yet to be titled, but is being referred to for now as “Being Mortal.” Ansari will also take a role in the film alongside Bill Murray, who was previously announced, and now another strong comedic actor has joined the project.

EXCLUSIVE: In what is turning into a cast of comedic hall-of-famers, sources tell Deadline Seth Rogen is set to join Bill Murray in Aziz Ansari’s feature directorial debut Being Mortal. Ansari is also on board to co-star from a script he wrote. He is also producing with Youree Henley.  Taylor Friedman and Cameron Chidsey are overseeing for Searchlight Pictures.

Zack Sharf “Daredevil” star Charlie Cox is no fan of Ben Affleck’s 2003 “Daredevil” movie. During his recent visit to Middle East Film & Comic Con 2022 in Abu Dhabi (via People), Cox revealed he had never watched the 2003 superhero movie until after he was cast as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the Netflix-Marvel series.“I watched it once, and then I wanted to go and do my own thing,” Cox said. “I hadn’t seen it before I got the role.

Charlie Cox starred in the Marvel TV show Daredevil for several seasons, which originally aired on Netflix. Ben Affleck portrayed the superhero in the movie version back in 2003.

Earlier this week, it was announced that the Marvel Television series that were produced for Netflix, including “Daredevil,” would be coming to Disney+ later this month. Joining those series on the streaming platform is a new parental controls option, due to those series featuring adult-oriented, mature content that borders on R-rated.
