CBS has set the premiere dates for its fall 2023 lineup. Paramount Network’s “Yellowstone” will kick off its broadcast on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 8:30 p.m.

Brian Steinberg Senior TV Editor Bill Geddie, a legendary TV-news producer who was behind many of Barbara Walters’ most notable efforts, including the long-running ABC daytime show “The View,” has died of coronary-related factors, his family told Variety. He was 68 years old. “He was a big deal in TV, but at home he was an even ‘bigger than life’ husband and dad,” said Geddie’s family in a statement.  “He had a genuine love for television and entertainment. He would try everything and did it well — screenwriting, recording podcasts, playing guitar, writing songs, and loved a wide range of music from country to jazz.  His favorite band was The Beatles, and he never thought he would have the opportunity to meet one of his personal heroes Paul McCartney in person, but his dream came true. The question wasn’t who did he meet, but rather who didn’t he meet?”

According to the CBS schedule, the series will air on the same evenings with single headers of NFL football.The news also comes amid ongoing drama behind the scenes, with Costner exiting the series after season 5 and the franchise expected to continue the Dutton story with an all-new sequel series while Paramount+ also has a number of spinoffs slated for the future. Additionally, CBS plans to start airing episodes of the Paramount+ originals, and, with the former making its network debut on Tuesdays after the scripted Dick Wolf drama,, while the latter returns to CBS with season 5 on Thursdays following the conclusion of, which will start airing all-new episodes of season 2 in August. The hit comedy,, will also be paired with the U.K.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter CBS is heavily revising its fall 2023 schedule as the effects of Hollywood’s double strike continues to be felt. When CBS originally released their fall schedule back in May, the broadcaster planned on having most of their scripted programming back. But that schedule was released about one week into the writers’ strike. Now, with SAG-AFTRA joining the writers on the picket lines and no end to either strike in sight, CBS is adding a large amount of acquired programming and unscripted shows. To that end, the network is importing a number of shows from within the Paramount ecosystem. Perhaps most notably, the hit series “Yellowstone” will make its broadcast debut on CBS on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT beginning with Season 1. The show originated on Paramount Network, which is owned by Paramount Global, as is CBS.
