The Mars Volta announce new single ‘Graveyard Love’ and more US tour dates

The Mars Volta have detailed another new single, ‘Graveyard Love’, as well as an extension of their US tour. The announcement follows the release of their first new music in ten years with ‘Blacklight Shine’, shared last month (June 21).The Texas-formed band released six studio albums between 2003 and 2012 before splitting due to a falling-out between founding members Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodríguez-López.The pair quickly made amends, however, and formed a new group, Antemasque. They also revamped their pre-Mars Volta outfit, At-the-Drive-In, for a new record in 2017.“They will seek your ruin, and burn your lands, because if they can’t have you, no one can,” Cedric Bixler-Zavala offered as a cryptic description of ‘Graveyard Love’, which will be released on Friday (July 8) alongside a new short film. The Mars Volta previewed ‘Blacklight Shine’ by setting up a mysterious box installation in Los Angeles’ Grand Park, which plays new material from the band when you walk inside.Last month, an audio-visual art installation was also erected in Los Angeles’ Grand Park, titled ‘L’YTOME HODORXÍ TELESTERION’, where they previewed ‘Blacklight Shine’.

Cardi B Drops Hot New Single With Lil Durk and Kanye West, Who Name-Drops His Kids, Virgil Abloh and God

Jem Aswad Senior Music EditorCardi B may not have released a ton of music in the past couple of years, but when she has, she’s made them count: Following “WAP,” her 2020 smash with Megan Thee Stallion, and last year’s “Up” comes “Hot Shit,” a truth-in-advertising new track featuring Kanye West and Lil Durk with a fiery beat from Memphis-born producer Tay Keith, who also co-produced Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” and Drake’s “Nonstop.”It’s a true collaborative single, with each rapper taking a verse and super-spare production — consisting almost entirely of vocals and beat, with the occasional sound effects — and in the hands of lesser rappers it wouldn’t be anywhere near as strong.

Denzel Curry on Drake and Kanye West: “You’ve got all these resources, and y’all made subpar albums”

Denzel Curry has criticised Drake and Kanye West for the “subpar albums” he said the two artists have released of late. The Florida MC was speaking to Spin about his latest full-length record ‘MELT MY EYEZ SEE YOUR FUTURE’ when he offered his thoughts on the recent works of the rap giants.“I was looking forward to Drake’s [new] album [‘Honestly, Nevermind’], ’cause Drake always got something,” Curry said. “But then, when you get them albums, you’re like, ‘What the fuck are you doing?'”According to Spin, Curry cited Drake’s previous LPs ‘Take Care’ (2011) and ‘If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late’ (2015) as examples of the quality he expected from the Canadian star.He then singled out Ye, saying: “We don’t even really need to talk about Kanye West, it’s Kanye West.“But for them to go out, and go against each other and make that subpar work with the resources they have.
