Police hunting a gunman in Lancashire have tracked down the car used by the suspect more than 60 miles away in Tameside. Detectives are investigating a shooting in Heysham, near Morecambe, on Monday.

A car ploughed into a house in Oldham, leaving a huge hole in the wall.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the smash on Honeywell Lane at around 10.15pm last night (Thursday). Police officers and fire crews were pictured at the scene.
A black car appeared to have crashed into the front of an end-terrace house. Pictures showed a large hole in the wall with loose bricks left strewn across the pavement.

A cordon was put in place while emergency services responded. Gas workers were also pictured at the scene.
It has not yet been confirmed whether anyone was taken to hospital after the smash, or whether any arrests were made. The Manchester Evening New s has contacted Greater Manchester Police for further details.
In a statement issued last night, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) spokesperson said: “At 10:13pm on Thursday 14 July 2022 one fire engine from Hollins fire station attended a road traffic collision on Honeywell Lane, Oldham. A car had collided with a building and two casualties from the vehicle were treated by North West Ambulance Service.
"Firefighters are currently in attendance and are carrying checks of the building.”
