A man has died in a car fire in the south of Scotland as police investigate the circumstances.

A car burst into flames on a Scots motorway this afternoon.
Emregency crews scrambled to the scene after being alerted at around 5.06pm on Sunday, October 1.
Two appliances from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were despatched and extinguished the blaze at the roadside. Police Scotland were also reported to have attended the incident.
There is no information on any casualties at this stage.
An image from the scene shows three firefighters standing at the scene and one is hosing down the vehicle.
The car windows all appear to have been smashed in the incident and the vehicle itself is completely charred from the blaze.
A second image shows smoke billowing into the sky, as one lane of the motorway has been shut down.
Speaking online, one eyewitness said the road could be closed due to the fire spreading.
She said: "Fire and police now on scene. A lot of smoke and trees on fire next to car. The road will likely get closed."
Another person added: "Hopefully no one is hurt."
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were called to a vehicle on fire at the M90 in Glenfarg at 5:06pm on Sunday, October 1.
"Two appliances were despatched to the scene and extinguished the fire.
"There are no reports of any injuries."
