A couple have been left feeling upset and unwelcome after an error on the sign at their favourite car park meant they weren't allowed in. Christine, 66, and Michael, 64, Dawson regularly visit the car park in their VW camper van as a way to relax and unwind.
The couple revealed they sadly suffer from a number of health problems which makes going places very difficult. Michael knee problems which makes walking difficult and Christine has IBS as well as anxiety, meaning she needs to be close to a toilet and that she struggles to be in busy places.
Because of their situation the Dawson's travel the car park most weekends as a means to switching off. However, last week the pair were left horrified when they found the rules had changed, meaning they were unable to park their motor home in their usual spot.
The incident Thrunscoe Land car park, Cleethropes, has left Christine and Michael wondering if they will ever return to the one place they enjoy visiting, according to Grimsby Live.
Christine, from Scunthrope, explained: “We come to Cleethorpes around once a week, but can only use about three car parks because we both have a number of health conditions, I need to be near a toilet and Michael can’t walk too far. I also have anxiety so can’t go too far from home, but I feel safe when we’re out in the van.
“I don’t like going to the front too often either as I don’t feel comfortable so where we park is brilliant.” However, during their visit last Friday, 8 July, the couple were shocked to see the parking rules had apparently changed.
