A distant cousin of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall has been found dead in a hotel room, according to reports. Charles Villiers, 59, was found deceased in a London hotel, reports The Times, after he was embroiled in a lengthy divorce battle with his estranged wife Emma, 62, in what was branded as one of "Britain's longest-running divorce battles".The pair separated a decade ago and filed for divorce in 2014. According to the publication, Charles was discovered by a housekeeper in a room at the Durrants Hotel, Marylebone, west London, last week.
It has been reported that the late 59 year old took his own life and had been struggling with his mental health prior to his passing. He was a distant cousin of Camilla's on her mother's side of the family. Charles' divorce is said to have played out in five different courts before 12 judges.
He had lived in a mansion boasting a private loch near Dumbarton, Scotland, for the majority of his married life to Emma, but the property went on to be repossessed in 2015. In the wake of their separation, Emma filed for divorce in England while Charles filed with the Scottish courts, sparking the years-long dispute over which courts it should be settled in. He went on to accuse his wife of bigamy and lying about her age - a claim he took directly to Police Scotland's Chief Constable Iain Livingston.
