One of the rarely acknowledged struggles of being a royal is how closely the public dissect and scrutinise your actions, with harsh criticism and unsolicited abuse being something Camilla knows all too well. During the interview, Camilla opened up about the intense negativity from the public she has faced when her relationship with Prince Charles was revealed back in the 90s.
Admitting herself that it’s “not easy” to shoulder the ridicule and criticism in the public eye, it has thankfully lessened in the two decades since then, with Camilla’s popularity growing year on year as she has continued to pursue charitable work, such as with victims of domestic violence, and even during her regular engagements as a working royal. She told Vogue: "I was scrutinised for such a long time that you just have to find a way to live with it.
