Caitriona Balfe appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and praised Outlanders 'crazy good' fanbase ahead of the new season.
Caitriona, 42, plays Claire Fraser in the on-screen adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander franchise, alongside Sam Heughan, 41, who plays her husband Jamie Fraser in the series.
The former model turned actress appeared on Jimmy Kimmel to promote the sixth instalment of the smash hit Starz show, where Jimmy asked her about the unusual tribute fans did on her birthday.
Last year, Outlander fans across the world banded together to give the Irish actress an extra special birthday gift by raising money to plant as many trees as possible.
The author of the fundraising page wrote: "They were inspired by Caitriona’s philanthropic spirit and wanted to make a positive impact on our planet, while honouring Caitriona and her October 4th birthday."
At the end of her interview with the late night host, Jimmy referenced the sweet gesture made by her fans.
Jimmy: "Oh by the way, the Outlander fans are pretty crazy right?"
"Crazy good," Caitriona quipped back.
Jimmy asked: "Crazy good. I know they did a thing on your birthday, they were going to plant trees in your honour. What did they call it?"
"Well it was project 'Cait-tree-na' but then I think it ended up as the Balfe forest," she responded.
Jimmy: "Because you started with 41 trees and then it became 4100 trees. How many did they plant?"
Caitriona: "I think it's like 120,000 or something."
"Wow 120,000 trees in your honour," Jimmy asked. "And now I'm going to encourage your fans. Do your fans have a name? Like a group name?"
Caitriona responds: "Well I think in the beginning it was the Caitriots, but I think it's morphed into something else now."
