'Buffy' Alum Eliza Dushku Lends Support to Charisma Carpenter After Joss Whedon Allegations

Sorry, Buffy fans. Sarah Michelle Gellar‘s vampire slaying days are long behind her.

Could there be a Buffy the Vampire Slayer without Sarah Michelle Gellar? Although she wasn’t the first to play the part (credit goes to Kristy Swanson), Gellar, 43, is synonymous with the character, having played Buffy Summers over seven series of the TV show.

Yet another veteran of Buffy the Vampire Slayer has publicly offered support for Charisma Carpenter after her allegations yesterday of abuse and “misconduct” by Joss Whedon on the supernatural series.

Today, Charisma Carpenter opened up about the abuse she was subject to from Joss Whedon on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. For the unversed, Carpenter portrayed Cordelia Chase in the drama series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the spin-off series Angel.

Sarah Michelle Gellar and other former cast members from Buffy the Vampire Slayer have come out in support of co-star Charisma Carpenter after the actor's statement against series creator Joss Whedon. “While I am proud to have my name associated with Buffy Summers, I don’t want to be forever associated with the name Joss Whedon,” Gellar wrote in a statement on Instagram.
