The Chats have announced their second studio album, ‘Get Fucked’, with the follow-up to their 2020 debut LP ‘High Risk Behaviour’ set to arrive on August 19 via their own Bargain Bin Records.To coincide with the news, the trio have shared the album’s ripping opening track, ‘6L GTR’, a takedown of rev-head, status symbol drivers inspired by frontman Eamon Sandwith spotting the song’s titular license plate in an airport carpark. “Don’t need a big flash, fancy car / Just need a six-litre GTR,” sings Sandwith on its very catchy refrain.It arrives alongside an animated video created by Marco Imov that shows cartoon versions of the trio – founding members Sandwith and drummer Matt Boggis along with guitarist Josh Hardy, who joined in 2020 – in pursuit of the song’s titular vehicle.

Stealing Sheep have announced new album ‘Wow Machine’, featuring music originally written for an installation at the Great Exhibition Of The North in 2018. The new recording of that work has been commissioned as the first release of Both Sides Records, a label launched by Brighter Sound’s music industry gender equality initiative Both Sides Now.“We’ve been inspired by the ‘Sisters With Transistors’, a group of radical women who used technology to push the boundaries of music”, say the band.

The “World’s Greatest Party Band” is taking its final bow following an upcoming US summer tour. The B-52s are calling it quits, capping off a 45 year long career, during which the band sold over 20 million albums and amassed three Grammy nominations.The new wave band, coined the “Kings of Kitsch” by Rolling Stone, is best known for hits such as Love Shack, Planet Claire, Rock Lobster, and My Own Private Idaho.Founding members Kate Pierson, Fred Schneider and Cindy Wilson are all returning for the tour. Fred Schneider said in a statement, “No one likes to throw a party more than we do, but after almost a half-century on the road, it’s time for one last blow-out with our friends and family… our fans. Andrew Bird has announced details of his new album ‘Inside Problems’ – you can listen to his new single ‘Underlands’ below.The US singer/songwriter will follow up his 2020 solo album ‘Hark!’ with the new record, which is set for release on June 3 via Loma Vista / Concord.Speaking about ‘Inside Problems’, which was produced by Mike Viola and recorded live by Bird and his four-piece band, Bird said: “I have so much fun taking my ideas apart before they really have defined themselves as distinct songs, when they’re still in that amoeba-like state.“I love the feeling of chasing ideas and having them split off and go hang out with another idea and then butting them up against each other to see if they talk to each other.”Bird has previewed ‘Inside Problems’ this week with the single ‘Underlands’, which you can hear above.“You just don’t know what’s under the surface, be it the land, the sea, our skin,” Bird explained in a press release about the track. “You could be whistling away, projecting contentedness, when really there’s a swirling twisted mess underneath.

Embrace have announced details of their new album ‘How To Be A Person Like Other People’ and an accompanying UK tour.The forthcoming record, Embrace’s eighth studio album, will be the follow-up to the band’s 2018 LP ‘Love Is A Basic Need’.Produced by the band’s Richard McNamara, ‘How To Be A Person Like Other People’ is set to be released on August 26 via Embrace’s own Mo’betta label through Townsend Music.
