Dick and Angel Strawbridge have officially confirmed they have “parted ways” with Channel 4 after a seven-year run of their hugely popular TV series, Escape To The Château.The couple found fame with the show - documenting their journey renovating the dilapidated 19th century Neo-Renaissance style Château de la Motte Husson, located in a small market town in Western France.The Strawbridge’s first purchased the property back in 2015, after they traded in their two-bedroom Essex flat to make the big move to France. Apparently, they paid just £280,000 for the 45-room Château and sprawling grounds with the intention of turning it into a successful enterprise.

that’s a Cannes Film Festival standing ovation.Martin Scorsese brought his epic “Killers of the Flower Moon” to Cannes on Saturday evening, and the crowd that filled the 3,200-seat Grand Theatre Lumiere responded pretty much the way you’d expect them to respond to an iconic director who first came to this festival with a little film called “Taxi Driver” that won the Palme d’Or a full 47 years ago.If Cannes is the palace of cinema, Scorsese is royalty who can stand alongside Fellini, Godard, Kurosawa, Bergman and a few others. And “Killers of the Flower Moon” has the feel of a late-career opus of the first magnitude, so the Cannes audience was unreserved in its enthusiasm for him and for the extraordinary lineup of stars he brought with him, Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio for starters.If you want to put a clock on it, the ovation lasted around eight minutes, longer than the five-to-six-minute one that has become about average for Cannes.

Blur played an intimate warm up show in their hometown of Colchester last night (May 19) ahead of their two huge concerts at Wembley Stadium.The Britpop icons performed in front of a tiny crowd at the town’s Arts Centre for a two-hour set that saw the band pull from across their back catalogue and air two songs from their forthcoming new album ‘The Ballad Of Darren’.It comes after Colchester Council’s culture boss called for Blur to stage a reunion gig in the Essex city last year.Speaking about the gig, their first in eight years, ahead of their performance at a press conference in Colchester Castle, frontman Damon Albarn said: “How we play tonight is kind of how we will play at Wembley although hopefully it will be a bit better there.
