A young boy with a brain tumour who was told he had only days to live has fought back for four months after being inspired by his TikTok star wrestling coach.
Carson Love, five, was diagnosed last September after going to hospital with dizzy spells.
Mum Michaela, 31, was told to prepare for the worst but has praised the support of his wrestling teacher David McCallum, known as Ravie Davie online.
He visited Carson constantly at Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children and is coaching him again at his Glasgow School of Wrestling, where the youngster has been inspired to fight against his condition.
Michaela said: “We were told it was only a virus, then, all of a sudden, we were told he was dying. It was gut-wrenching.
“David was the only person that could keep him on a level to get different tests done. With him saying that Carson could get through it, it was a massive thing. He really looks up to him.”
Carson initially felt dizzy in one of the wrestling classes and saw doctors who at first suspected it was due to a viral infection.
Tests later found he had obstructive hydrocephalus caused by a brain tumour and he had only days to live. Michaela said: “The doctor showed me the fluid all over his brain being blocked by this tumour.
"I was told he needed emergency surgery to drain it but basically he was dying and may only have a couple of days. They drilled a 5p-size hole that would let the fluid run through his brain but after a few weeks, I knew something wasn’t right.
“He then went for a scan and it showed that the operation had failed.”
Throughout the process, David would visit the Govan youngster in the hospital, FaceTime him and help when the nurses came in.

“Selfish” — which dropped Thursday morning — finds the pop superstar getting in his falsetto feels over a smooth midtempo groove.“So if I get jealous, I can’t help it/I want every bit of you, I guess I’m selfish,” he sweetly croons in the chorus that proves that, even at 42, he still possesses some of that same boy-band charm that made us fall in love with him when he was a curly-haired teen heartthrob.Indeed, after Timberlake reunited with ’N Sync last fall for the “Trolls Band Together” bop “Better Place,” “Selfish” takes him back to the swoon-worthy sincerity of his boy-band days — long before he fell victim to cancel culture for his purported misdeeds with Janet Jackson (after their 2004 Super Bowl halftime performance) and ex Britney Spears. But while the song recaptures a kind of lost innocence, it also has some muted, moody beats — think Drake — and a hint of melancholy from an older soul.“Selfish” — which reteams Timberlake with longtime producer Timbaland, while bringing in new collaborators Louis Bell (Taylor Swift, Post Malone) and Cirkut (Maroon 5, The Weeknd) — is the first single from the singer’s upcoming sixth studio album, “Everything I Thought It Was,” due March 15.Timberlake also dropped the “Selfish” video, and like the song, it’s a more subtle, subdued affair than, say, “Filthy,” from his last LP, 2018’s “Man of the Woods.”It’s just Justin singing and vibing behind the scenes, proudly rocking the grays in his beard now.The clip — directed by Bradley J.
