Bradley Walsh was left stunned after a contestant revealed her bizarre reasons for appearing on The Chase.
Contestant Ramisa, 25, explained to host Bradley she was hoping to win a sum of cash so she could either buy a dog or use the money as a deposit.
But viewers were left gobsmacked when she said she currently has a cat, but says it's "cranky" and she wants it to die to make way for her new pet.
She said: "I like dogs a lot, I spend a lot of my time researching dogs, watching dogs, playing with dogs.
"I even downloaded this app to dog sit, calling myself the dog whisperer. Unfortunately no one hired me, I don't know if it was because they were a bit freaked out."
Inquisitive to know more about the contestant, Bradley asked Ramisa if she'd like to open her own dog kennels with the money should she and the team win, but the 25-year-old explained how she'd just like a pet dog for herself.
The dog lover then explained: "Right now I have a cat and she's a bit cranky - so I'd like to buy a dog in the future."
Knowing that she already has a cat, Bradley asked if she wanted a dog in the near future, to which she responded: "Well it depends if she dies first."
Completely taken aback, Bradley couldn't believe what he had just witnessed.
He then said: "So the cat's got to peg it before you get a cat?"
Ramisa laughed and simply said: "Exactly," before explaining that if her cat was still alive she'd use any money won for a deposit on a house, where she'd have a room dedicated to her cat so that it was far away from her and potential new pooch.
She told the host: "I'd like to put a deposit down on a house where either my cat is dead and I can get a dog or she has a separate bedroom far far away."
Fans were not happy with Ramisa's reasoning

The Chase host Bradley Walsh has shared how he “cheated” to get his job on the ITV quiz show. Bradley was joined by Dancing On Ice champion Sonny Jay on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp, where he made the admission.
The Chase star Mark Labbett, aka The Beast, has broken his silence on storming off the set of the ITV game show. Last night’s episode (Wednesday 26 January) saw Mark, 56, beaten by four contestants as they scooped a staggering £21,000 - and Mark did not take the defeat well.
