Boy, 5, rushed to hospital after being hit by off-road bike while playing football

A five-year-old boy needs surgery after an off-road bike smashed into him as he played football. The child suffered injuries to his leg and lip during the collision on playing fields, off Kings Road, Oldham, yesterday evening (Thursday August 4).

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested and released under investigation. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed that they are cracking down on the use of illegal off-road bikes and drafting in more officers, following the incident.
