Jennifer Lawrence’s team was hesitant about ‘No Hard Feelings’ nude scene

Jennifer Lawrence has revealed that her team was hesitant about her nude scene in No Hard Feelings. The recently released comedy sees Lawrence play a 32-year-old Uber driver in the Hamptons whose car is repossessed because she failed to pay her property taxes. She ends up answering an ad on Craigslist posted by a wealthy couple (Laura Benanti and Matthew Broderick), offering a car in return for a woman to date their socially awkward 19-year-old son (Andrew Barth Feldman) to prepare him for college life. The R-rated movie features a number of raunchy moments, but one scene in particular sees Lawrence’s character, Maddie, fully naked on a beach.“Everyone in my life and my team is doing the right thing and going, ‘Are you sure? Are you sure? Are you sure?’” Lawrence told Variety while promoting the film alongside Feldman. “I didn’t even have a second thought.

Box Office: ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’ Only Cracking $82 Million Through Fourth of July

J. Kim Murphy “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” is staying in line with some tempered box office expectations, still tracking to fall in line with estimates that had pegged the film with an opening between $80 million and $85 million through the Fourth of July holiday. The Harrison Ford finale earned $11.8 million on Monday, pushing its domestic total to $71 million. Unlike some other holidays, Independence Day isn’t exactly the largest box office booster — with families hitting the beach, barbecuing red meat and waiting for fireworks, filmgoing isn’t exactly at the top of the agenda for most Americans. Rather, it’s the time off around the Fourth that can offer some extra lift to studio tentpoles.

‘No Hard Feelings’ Actor Laura Benanti Gushes Over ‘Funny’ and ‘Silly’ Jennifer Lawrence: ‘She’s Not a Princess’

Marc Malkin Senior Film Awards, Events & Lifestyle Editor Jennifer Lawrence may be an Oscar-winning actor, but she hasn’t let all that fame and fortune go to her head. “You immediately forget she’s a movie star when you meet her,” says Laura Benanti, who appears opposite Lawrence in the new R-rated comedy “No Hard Feelings.” “She’s so down to earth.” Lawrence stars in “No Hard Feelings” as an Uber driver who agrees to date a wealthy couple’s (Benanti and Matthew Broderick) socially awkward 19-year-old son (Andrew Barth Feldman) in exchange for a car. “Sure, at first I was nervous because it’s like, ‘How are you so beautiful?’” Benanti said of Lawrence. “But then I was immediately laughing with her. She’s so funny, silly and a hard worker. She’s not a princess. She is comfortable being uncomfortable.”

full-frontal nudity. The premise revolves around 32-year-old Maddie (Lawrence), who is hired by 19-year-old Percy’s (Andrew Barth Feldman) parents to date him. The stars of the flick clapped back at the recent backlash to the movie’s plot and rated-R raunchiness.Percy’s overprotective (and wealthy) parents are played by Laura Benanti and Matthew Broderick.“It’s a cautionary tale,” Benanti, 43, explained to the Hollywood Reporter about the hate.“If you are a helicopter parent who puts your child in such a bubble, they do not know how to exist outside of that bubble, you are going to make the exact opposite and insane choice, which is what they are doing here.“I feel like it is a very satirical look at what can happen if you do not give your children a longer leash to figure things out for themselves,” the “Nashville” star continued.

Box Office: ‘Spider-Verse’ Returns to No. 1 as ‘The Flash’ Collapses By 73% and Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘No Hard Feelings’ Opens to $15 Million

Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter In another universe, “The Flash,” once touted by its own studio as “one of the greatest superhero movies of all time,” would be towering over the box office with ease in its second weekend of release. But in this universe, audiences are flat-out rejecting the Warner Bros. movie, starring Ezra Miller as the eponymous, timeline-spanning speedster. Rather than taking a victory lap, the comic book adventure is cratering in third place with $15.3 million from 4,265 North American theaters, marking a brutal 73% decline from its unimpressive $55 million debut. That’s a far bigger drop than recent DC adaptations, including “Black Adam” (59%) and “Shazam: Fury of the Gods” (69%), which ended up as huge money losers for the studio.

‘No Hard Feelings’ flirts its way to top of the box office

according to IMDB’s Box Office Mojo. The Jennifer Lawrence-led flick centers around a 32-year-old bartender and Uber driver who accepts a job to date a 19-year-old from a Craigslist ad created by his parents.Rolling Stone said the A-List actress is “easily the best thing in this comedy about a woman hired to ‘date’ a shy high school senior — yet not even foul-mouthed, no-filter J-Law can save this mess.”“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” crawled up to second place after being in third last week, earning 5.7 million. There was buzz from fans that a sequel to the flick would be released in March, but that rumor was dispelled from an anonymous artist who worked on the movie.“There’s no way that movie’s coming out then,” the employee dished to Vulture.“Everyone’s been fully focused on Across the Spider-Verse and barely crossing the finish line.

‘No Hard Feelings’ Review: Soft Launch

The randy, rocky comedy No Hard Feelings (★★☆☆☆) hints at a few different meanings in its title, including the obvious sexual pun, which hardly warrants a giggle, and isn’t exactly accurate. The lead pair in this wannabe-bawdy, R-rated romp are plenty horny, actually, if not necessarily for each other.Jennifer Lawrence plays Montauk bartender and Uber driver Maddie Barker, who’s sleeping off a hot night with a hunk listed in the credits as Gorgeous Italian Guy (Christian Galvis) when she wakes to find her car being seized by the county.

‘No Hard Feelings’ Earns $2.15 Million at Thursday Box Office

Jennifer Lawrence’s much-discussed return to studio star vehicles, in a film being pitched as a canary in the coal mine for the theatrical strength of star-driven comedies, got off to a promising start as Sony’s “No Hard Feelings” earned $2.15 million in Thursday previews. Meanwhile, Wes Anderson’s “Asteroid City,” which shattered records for a per-theater-average for a six-screen (or more) release last weekend, expanded into 1,675 theaters with $1.1 million for Focus Features.

Box Office: ‘No Hard Feelings’ Makes $2.15 Million in Previews

Jordan Moreau Jennifer Lawrence’s new R-rated comedy, “No Hard Feelings,” hits theaters this weekend and made $2.15 million in previews at the box office. The raunchy comedy from Sony is predicted to open with a soft $12 million in its opening weekend, which may not bode well considering its $45 million budget. It’s been a tough time for R-rated comedies at the box office lately, with the once profitable genre nearly going extinct. Besides this year’s “Cocaine Bear,” which made $87 million worldwide, the last few comedies, like Sony and Bert Kreischer’s “The Machine,” Billy Eichner’s “Bros,” Sebastian Maniscalco and Robert De Niro’s “About My Father” and Jo Koy’s “Easter Sunday,” haven’t not found much box office success.

Nick Vivarelli International Correspondent The Filming ItalySardegna Festival that kicks off Italy’s summer moviegoing season will play a prominent role in the ongoing push to lure Italians back into movie theaters, just as the country’s box office is starting to gain traction.    A robust roster of talents from Hollywood and Italy and a solid lineup of premieres are booked for this event, which combines film and TV and unspools June 22-25 in the Forte Village resort near Cagliari, capital of Sardegna (Sardinia in English). Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘No Hard Feelings’ Co-Star Had to ‘Look Her in the Eyes’ and Say ‘Let’s F—‘ For Their Chemistry Read, Then Left Harvard to Go Film

Zack Sharf Digital News Director In the upcoming comedy “No Hard Feelings,” Jennifer Lawrence plays a down-on-her-luck Uber driver who accepts a job trying to seduce a 19-year-old whose helicopter parents don’t want him heading off to college as a virgin. The task of playing the Oscar winner’s male lead in a raunchy R-rated comedy fell to Andrew Barth Feldman, best known until now for his stint on Broadway in “Dear Evan Hanson.” Feldman was already a student at Harvard University when the offer to join Lawrence in “No Hard Feelings” was made. “I mean, when Andrew left his audition, the door closed and we all looked at each other and we were like, ‘That’s our — that’s Percy,”” Lawrence recently told Entertainment Tonight. “Then they were like there’s one complication, he’s supposed to go to Harvard, and we were like, ‘Is that a joke?’ He was fully the character, so I called him and said, ‘Andrew, I have really bad news you’re not gonna be able to finish your semester at Harvard.’ He’s gonna have to defer, or whatever college school words are.”

Box Office: Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘No Hard Feelings’ Aims for $12 Million Debut, ‘The Flash’ Braces for 60% Drop

Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter Can an R-rated comedy that draws big laughs still bring in outsized ticket sales at the box office? Jennifer Lawrence’s “No Hard Feelings” will put that question to the test as the raunchy funny film opens over the weekend in 3,000 North American theaters, where it’s expected to earn a tepid $12 million in its debut. That’s not a terrible result at a time in which theatrical comedies, especially of the R-rated variety, have become something of endangered species. But it also wouldn’t be a great start considering its star power, $45 million budget and prime June release date. Earlier this year, Universal’s wild R-rated “Cocaine Bear” opened to $23.2 million — and (with all due respect to the drugged-up grizzly) that film wasn’t headlined by one of the biggest names in Hollywood.
