‘Bottoms’ Is Now Streaming on Prime Video

The program aims to identify and empower 50 exceptional individuals from Black, Asian and global majority (a collective term for people of Indigenous, African, Asian, Latin American descent, who constitute some 85% of the global population) backgrounds who are poised to become the future leaders of the U.K.

Blame it all on his roots and how he showed up in boots: Garth Brooks, together with his wife Trisha Yearwood, are launching a new docuseries for Prime Video called Friends in Low Places.

Emily Longeretta Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are letting the cameras in. Amazon Prime Video will follow the country icons and their friends in a new docuseries, “Friends in Low Places,” as they work on opening “the ultimate oasis,” a honky-tonk bar in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. The series will premiere on Thursday, March 7.

If you don’t recognize Benito Skinner’s name chances are you’ve seen his Instagram or TikTok videos. A content creator who exploded during the stay-at-home pandemic, Skinner made a name for himself with his impersonations of the Kardashians and his fictional characters such as LA relator Deliverance Richards and Jenni the TMI hairstylist.

Prime Video has handed a series order to Benito Skinner’s Overcompensating. The series, which has been in development at Amazon since November 2022, hails from Skinner, who also stars, Jonah Hill’s Strong Baby productions and A24. English singer-songwriter Charli XCX will produce original music for the series, which is co-produced by A24 and Amazon MGM Studios.

Jesse Williams (Grey’s Anatomy, Only Murders In The Building) will produce and star in Prime Video’s Costiera, an Italian action-drama series filmed in English and directed by Emmy award winner Adam Bernstein (Breaking Bad, Fargo). The series is currently in production.

Diego Boneta (Luis Miguel: The Series, Father of the Bride) is set to lead the newly greenlit bilingual series El Gato (w/t), based on the comic book series El Gato Negro by Richard Dominguez. Production is anticipated to begin this spring in Mexico.

The fourth season of Amazon’s Emmy-winning drama “The Boys” will debut with three episodes June 13. The as-yet-untitled documentary is described by Prime Video as “an intimate follow-along through the final 12 days of Roger Federer’s illustrious career. Originally a home video never intended for public viewing, the film captures Federer at his most vulnerable and candid self, as he says goodbye to a game and the fans that shaped his life for the last two decades.” It features interviews from Federer’s rivals and friends, including Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray.

Oscar-winner Asif Kapadia is helming a Prime Video doc about the latter days of tennis legend Roger Federer‘s career, which was originally intended as a home movie.

Naman Ramachandran “Delhi Crime” creator Richie Mehta‘s India-set Prime Video series “Poacher” could become a global franchise. The Amazon original is produced by QC Entertainment, led by partners Sean McKittrick, Raymond Mansfield and Edward H. Hamm Jr., who backed Jordan Peele’s Oscar-winning “Get Out” and “Us” and Spike Lee’s Oscar, BAFTA and Cannes-winning “BlacKkKlansman.

“Invincible” returned to Prime Video last November for the first part of its second season and immediately became one of 2023’s highest-rated animated series. Despite only being four episodes, and premiering less than two months before the end of the year, the first half of “Invincible” Season 2 won Rotten Tomatoes‘ Golden Tomato Award for Best Animated Series and currently holds an 100% rating on the review-aggregation website.
