Bong Joon-Ho accepted the award for Best Director at the 2020 Oscars at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood Sunday, marking the first time a Korean film ever won in the category.
“After winning Best International Feature Film, I thought I was done for the day and ready to relax,” he joked.
The director spent his speech thanking fellow nominees whom he beat out, like Martin Scorsese, who was nominated for “The Irishman.”
