EXCLUSIVE: Boiling Point producer It’s All Made Up Productions has opened a London office with plans for a second in Liverpool.
The company run by Boiling Point director Philip Barantini and exec Samantha Beddoe have a “slate of productions already in development with all major broadcasters and studios in the UK and U.S.,” they said, with greenlights understood to be incoming. Focus will be drama and documentaries for both the big and small screen.
It’s All Made Up recently rebranded from Made Up Productions and opened an office in Central London, and the company has plans for another in Liverpool. Barantini and Beddoe both hail from the North West of England.
Barantini and Beddoe have said the company is committed to championing lesser-known and underrepresented voices and stories.
“We want to tell powerful stories that resonate and provoke through film, drama and documentaries on the biggest scale possible,” said Barantini.
Beddoe added: “With both of us coming from a similar background in the North West, there was also the mindset of establishing a platform for voices from our home city along with the opportunity to tell stories that we loved, on our terms and with the range of talent beyond the Watford Gap.”
Barantini is the BAFTA and BIFA-nominated director of critically-acclaimed one-shot movie Boiling Point and its TV follow-up. Other credits include Malpractice and The Responder, while he is working on an ambitious crime drama for Netflix with Jack Thorne and Boiling Point star Stephen Graham.
Beddoe began her career in production finance, controlling and running production budgets for Disney, Lucasfilm, FX Networks and BBC. She executive produced the Boiling Point movie as well as co-producing Accused with
