Body pulled from canal in Maryhill as police probe sudden death

A body has been discovered in a Glasgow canal sparking a police investigation.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Maryhill Locks, near Maryhill Road, shortly after 1pm on Sunday.
A crew from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were also called to help with the grim recovery.
Police have confirmed the death but have not revealed the gender of the person discovered.
A force spokesperson said: “Around 1.05pm on Sunday, 23 January, officers were called to Maryhill Locks near Maryhill Road, Glasgow.
“A body has been recovered from the water and police enquiries are ongoing.”
