New Order launch new charity t-shirt to help the people of Ukraine

New Order have launched a new official t-shirt in aid of the British Red Cross’ Ukraine Crisis Appeal.Available through the band’s official merch store, the shirt’s design was inspired by the VHS label of their Taras Shevchenko concert film, which was designed by the Peter Saville Associates agency. The gig in question was filmed in late 1981 at the Ukrainian National Home in New York City. The film was named after Taras Shevchenko, the 19th century writer, poet and painter whose works championed the formation of an independent Ukraine. You can purchase the white t-shirt for £25, with a minimum of £10 from each sale being donated to the Red Cross.Last November, New Order marked the 40th anniversary of their debut album ‘Movement’ by sharing the aforementioned NYC show on YouTube in its entirety.

Sting Releases New Version of ‘Russians’ to Benefit Ukraine Relief

Jem Aswad Senior Music EditorWhen Sting first released the song “Russians” in 1985, the Cold War had been raging for nearly 40 years, and the song aimed to strike a humanizing tone on the people actually behind that Iron Curtain. Just weeks earlier, the Soviet Union had gotten a young new leader named Mikhail Gorbachev who ultimately would end that war and change the world in the process, for the better, it seemed at the time.Sadly, four decades later, Russia has launched the most devastating ground war in Europe since World War II with its unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, and it’s necessary to strike a humanizing tone again, and Sting has released a re-recorded version of the song to benefit www.helpukraine.center — a volunteer storage center established by Ukrainian business owners where humanitarian and medical aid can be sent from all over the world – with funds being processed through the German charity foundation, Ernst Prost, People for Peace – Peace for People.

Q&A: Bethenny Frankel eyes $100M goal for Ukraine relief

NEW YORK -- Bethenny Frankel has a keen understanding that raising money is a dance, even in the biggest fundraising efforts. As the entrepreneur and podcast host spearheads a massive campaign for Ukrainian relief with her BStrong initiative, in partnership with Global Empowerment Mission, she is balancing plenty — getting their message out and asking for donations, informing people without overwhelming them and turning them off.“My partner, Michael Capponi, is knee-deep in it," Frankel said. “He's on the ground in Poland and wants to post all day long about what he’s doing and he’s seeing, I have to temper that and say, ‘We need to give them a break, a palate cleanser.'"Even though Frankel sold Skinnygirl, the cocktail brand she created, for a reported $100 million in 2011, she still controls the brand, expanding it to include everything from popcorn to jeans to sunglasses.

A snippet from Amanda's podcast was played on the show, and heard the former Britain's Got Talent judge telling listeners: "As a wife and a mum of two daughters, seeing those families fighting to survive, pleading to TV news crews to help them, has been absolutely heartbreaking." The distressed voice of a refugee is then heard announcing: "Nobody is going to break us, we are strong.

Belle And Sebastian share powerful ‘If They’re Shooting At You’ video in support of Ukraine

Belle And Sebastian have shared a new single called ‘If They’re Shooting At You’ alongside an accompanying video in support of those affected by the conflict in Ukraine. The Scottish group enlisted various photographers who are on the ground covering the ongoing crisis to create a powerful “visual collage” set to their latest single, which will appear on their 10th album ‘A Bit Of Previous’.As well as offering a message of solidarity and hope, Belle And Sebastian have pledged to donate all artist income from the song – including streaming, digital sales and publishing royalties – to the Red Cross.Additionally, donations made via Bandcamp until next Friday (March 18) will be matched by the UK government as part of a joint appeal with the Disasters Emergency Committee. An option to donate directly is also available with the song on streaming platforms.“When the situation in Ukraine first started to happen it became clear that the lives of the people there, and probably ‘ours’ too,  were never going to be the same,” said frontman Stuart Murdoch.“The band had just started rolling out tracks for our new album, and it all felt a bit silly to be honest.
