Like many new mums, the prospect of taking your baby home for the first time is extremely daunting – from the car ride home, to establishing a routine with your little one (or two in Frankie Essex’s case!). Former TOWIE star Frankie gave birth to her twins, whom she shares with boyfriend Luke Love, in June, and has since revealed to the world that they’ve named their little bundles of joy Logan and Luella. Now, in an exclusive column for OK!, Frankie, 34, will be detailing her life as a new mum-of-two, with her first column opening up on her "scary" first week at home with her babies.
From power cuts and her "golden milk" coming through, Frankie reveals all... The drive home The drive home was really, really scary. Obviously, as we've got twins, there's two car seats in the back on either side of the doors.
I couldn't see in the middle of them, so I had to sit in the front. Luke was driving and, because I’d had a C-section as well, I couldn't even climb over to the back or anything. So that was a bit horrible to just leave them in the back of the car as it was a good half an hour, 45 minutes away from our house.
He was driving really slow and it felt so long. When you leave the hospital with a new baby, they should give you a special badge to let people know that you've got two new babies in the car — like an L plate for learner drivers, because people drive like nutters. I haven’t thought about it until now but, when you have kids in the car it’s well scary.
