Beck and Lizzo among keynote speakers announced for SXSW 2022

Taking a break to enjoy the music! While presenting two awards at the 2022 ACM Awards, Luke Grimes and Kelsey Asbille didn’t forget to offer a special shoutout to their hit show Yellowstone.

BBC One adventure programme Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof has been unveiled. The six-part series, hosted by Holly Willoughby, 41, and Lee Mack, 53, will see eight celebrities embark on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure under the training of extreme athlete Wim Hof, 62. Wim, also known as The Iceman, will guide the VIPs though a series of challenges designed to test their limits, both physically and mentally.

CHVRCHES and Robert Smith treated the BandLab NME Awards 2022 this evening (March 2) to a stunning performance of ‘Asking For A Friend’, their collaboration ‘How Not To Drown’ and The Cure’s ‘Just Like Heaven’.The Scottish trio and Smith’s performance on the O2 Academy Brixton stage midway through the Awards marked the first time that they had all performed ‘How Not To Drown’ live together, which earlier in the night won the Best Song By A UK Artist prize.The collaboration appeared on CHVRCHES’ 2021 album ‘Screen Violence’, as did the band’s set opener ‘Asking For A Friend’.After performing ‘Asking For A Friend’, frontwoman Lauren Mayberry then introduced Smith on stage. Smith displayed a sticker of the Ukrainian flag on his guitar in a show of support to the nation as they then delivered a storming rendition of ‘How Not To Drown’.“The NME were really nice to us and gave us a miniature gig during their ceremony,” Mayberry said of their performance, before introducing ‘Just Like Heaven’ by saying: “I’m sure you’ll know this one.” Mayberry and Smith then shared vocals on the Cure classic.Also performing at the ongoing BandLab NME Awards 2022 are BERWYN, Rina Sawayama and Bring Me The Horizon.

Blink-182 has created a custom Blink-182 LEGO set based on the band’s video for their 2000 single ‘All The Small Things’.You can see pictures of the set below, which was created by a fan via the LEGO ideas page. Fans are able to vote for the design to potentially be turned into an actual product by the company.It features the band, a jet plane and a number of other characters from the original video recreated in LEGO form.The original video was filmed at the Van Nuys Airport and at Santa Monica State Beach, and featured parodies of the era’s biggest pop artists including Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera among others.It’s not the first music to receive a LEGO makeover on the site.

South by Southwest Conference and Festivals today announced a final round of Keynotes and Featured Speakers for the 36th annual Conference taking place in Austin, TX from March 11-20, with Ron Howard, Ted Lasso stars Brett Goldstein and Brendan Hunt, actor-filmmaker Gillian Jacobs, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, former U.S. representative Beto O’Rourke, and musicians Brian Eno and Nathaniel Rateliff among the notable additions.

Coheed and Cambria have shared their latest single ‘The Liars Club’ and announced details of a North American tour.The song is taken from the four-piece’s upcoming new album ‘Vaxis II: A Window Of The Waking Mind’, which is set for release on May 27 via Roadrunner Records.Speaking about ‘The Liars Club’, Coheed and Cambria frontman Claudio Sanchez said in a statement: “When the truth is such a mess, who doesn’t want to live out a different reality?
