No one has been prouder than Ellie Leach's mum Karen to see how her daughter has blossomed on the dancefloor of BBC Strictly Come Dancing. Her dance skills have amazed even the people closest to her - who had no idea she had such a talent.
While many may think she has had formal dance training, Ellie's mum tells the MEN that her only dance background was tap and ballet classes "that all young girls do" from the age of 5 to 7. By the tender age of 9, Ellie had already won her first TV role on Coronation Street as Faye Windass - and acting became her passion.
Now, the Audenshaw actress is tipped as the favourite to take the Glitterball trophy with her professional dance partner Vito Coppola on the Strictly final on Saturday night.

Karen has travelled down from the family's home in Audenshaw to London EVERY weekend since Ellie's Strictly journey first began back in September. She admits at the start she had just hoped her daughter would make it past week two, having no idea the skills she was about to unleash on the nation.
Now she could be about to watch her 22-year-old daughter waltz away with the entire competition. Ellie's mum Karen, 50, and dad Al, 52, along with her little sister Daisy, 15, have been cheering her every step of the way.
When we ask if Karen knew how well Ellie could dance, she laughed: "Did I 'eck! From literally the age of four or five she started dance like all little girls do, doing a tap and ballet class at the weekend. But that's all she ever did until about the age of 7.
