A BBC star defended Love Island's Tasha Ghouri after Laura Whitmore made a dig at her wine knowledge. Laura, 37, sparked a backlash when she tried to mock Tasha on Saturday Kitchen. The Irish Love Island host jokingly made a dig about Tasha on Matt Tebbut's BBC daytime show, Saturday Kitchen.
It seems, Laura was left unimpressed by Tasha's knowledge about rosé wine and poked fun at the dancer's views. But her jibe backfired when BBC wine expert Helen McGinn stepped in to take Tasha's side.
Laura claimed Tasha, 23, had got confused in thinking rosé was red and white wine mixed together. She said: "Tasha on Love Island this year she thought rose wine was red white and white wine mixed together which is apparently not how you make it." However, she was surprised when Helen hit back: "Well I have to say Tasha's not completely wrong." A taken aback Laura replied: "Oh! Go on." Helen explained: "In Champagne you are allowed to mix red and white wine to make rosé, but only in Champagne in France." Laura retorted: "Do you think Tasha thought that? Do you think Tasha thought that?" Helen smiled as she said: "I love Tasha!" Some Saturday Night Kitchen viewers didn't seem to take well to Laura's remarks about Tasha as they slammed the host during the show.
One wrote: "One minute in and Laura has already tried to shame someone else’s intelligence, only for it to backfire and she has come out as the stupid one [laughing emoji]". Another said: "Will Laura Whitmore be eating a slice of humble pie on #SaturdayKitchen? We can only hope." This comes after Tasha’s heartwarming tribute to her boyfriend Andrew Le Page after she managed to capture the sweet moment he changed her cochlear implant batteries on camera.
