BBC soap Doctors is to be taken off air for several months, sending fans of the medical drama into a frenzy. The long-standing series - which had it's origin in March 2000 and has since run every week for the last 23 years - has been removed from the broadcaster's schedule for the next few months, with the final episode having aired yesterday at 1.45pm. A spokesperson for the popular TV soap - which sees staff at the Mill Health Centre and Campus Surgery saving the lives of their patients while balancing their turbulent personal lives - announced the same day that Doctors would be taking a break.
In a post delivered to social media, the BBC representatives explained: "Doctors will be off air and return to your screens on Monday 4th September. In the meantime, Catch up on BBC iPlayer." Unhappy fans of the show have been quick to express their dissatisfaction with the explanation given by bosses at the channel, with several taking to Instagram to hit out.
In the comment section of the official Doctors' BBC Instagram account, one viewer demanded: "I love doctors, have been a fan for many years, I would like to ask, why are you off for so long?" It was then that the individual behind the Instagram account replied: "It's due to budget issues - the BBC doesn't provide Doctors with enough budget for them to produce episodes year-round like they used to [sad-face emoji]". Another disgruntled fan commented, "Will be sadly missed for lunch time tv.
Amazing drama. Lots of good talent," whilst one viewer added, "Can’t believe there’s now a break until September! Why? No other soap does this!" A third fan of the show penned a lengthy response to producers: "You could of made summer break only like a month how come so long I understand

Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” is gunning for the top spot on box office charts. The fifth and final adventure to star Harrison Ford as the legendary, globe-trotting explorer is targeting at least $65 million from 4,500 North American theaters in its opening weekend. The latest Indy installment is also debuting day-and-date at the international box office, where it’s aiming to add $80 million for a global start of $145 million to $150 million. Those ticket sales are decent, especially for the fourth sequel to a decades-old property that’s aimed at older audiences. But Disney spent a mind-boggling $295 million to bring the action-adventure to life. That’s not including marketing costs, such as a no-expense-spared premiere and afterparty at the Cannes Film Festival where much champagne was tippled. Even in the best circumstances, it’ll take a heroic feat — and a lot of nostalgia from long-time fans of the series — for “Indiana Jones 5” to turn a profit in its theatrical run.

Jazz Tangcay Artisans Editor When stunt coordinators Tim Connolly and Hank Kingi Jr. first read the script for the pilot of FX’s “The Old Man,” they thought its central chase sequence was one of the best-written scenes in TV. Then, their minds flooded with “a ton of concerns.” Speaking with Variety as Emmy voting comes to a close, Connolly says their challenge was: “How do you pull such a significant scene off with an actor that is 70 years old, and make it feel real and visceral?” So Jeff Bridges prepared for the scene for over a month. In the series, he plays Dan, a rogue CIA operative on the run after being discovered by the FBI. The pilot climaxes with Dan trying to outrun a tail. He seemingly disappears, but before the agents can react, he comes out of nowhere and crashes his car, staving off any fightback from the FBI agents chasing after him.

Jazz Tangcay Artisans Editor Filmmaker Sam Hargrave knew he would have to up the ante when it came to filming Netflix’s action sequel “Extraction 2.” The first film, which came out in 2020, contained a 12-minute sequence that included a car chase, gun battles, knife battles and plenty of explosions. It was during early conversations with producer Joe Russo that the idea of a longer sequence came up. Says Hargrave, “Joe said, ‘It’d be cool if we opened the film with Tyler (Chris Hemsworth) extracting someone from a prison. Joe he wrote this into the script, ‘And thus follows the greatest oner in cinema history.’” Hargrave devised a plan forward, and the result was a mind-blowing, 21-minute one-take sequence that sees black ops specialist Tyler Rake entering a prison to rescue the family of a violent gang member. As Tyler and the family members escape the prison and jump into armored vehicles, a chase ensues, and when they board a train, it comes under attack by gangsters who land a helicopter on the train.
