The chef opened his flagship restaurant back in 1998, putting French cuisine at the forefront of the London food scene, in the Chelsea location which previously housed the Michelin-starred La Tante Claire. By 2001, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay had been awarded the coveted three Michelin stars - the highest accolade given by the Guide. The site describes eateries with the full set of stars as “Exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey!”.
Gordon’s first solo venture was also the place where many of the country’s best chefs have made their name. In 2007, Clare Smyth MBE, was appointed as the restaurant’s Chef Patron, becoming the only female chef in the UK to hold a three Michelin star accolade, before leaving to open her own restaurant, Core in Kensington. From 2015, Matt Abé was appointed Chef de Cuisine to lead the team being promoted to co-Chef Patron in 2020.
Inside Gordon’s pride and joy, customers will find it sits just 45 people. Of course, all guests will have to comply with a smart dress code, so no T-shirts, shorts, sportswear, sneakers or trainers of any kind. Also say goodbye to any ripped, studded or torn denim jeans before entering the restaurant.
Restaurant Gordon Ramsay serves three different menus for its guests to enjoy - A La Carte, Menu Prestige, and Carte Blanche - coming in at three different prices.
