EastEnders actor Danny Walters, who plays Keanu Taylor, has opened up about a hurtful comment that led him to lose four stone.
The 30 year old star, whose character is currently in the middle of a kidnap plot in the BBC One soap, shared how being called an "ugly fat guy" by a girl when he was younger pushed him to transform his body. Danny managed to slim down from 16 stone to 12 stone through fitness and a healthy diet, achieving a toned look that fans of the soap are now familiar with, as reported by the Daily Mirror. He revealed during a recent chat on the My Time Capsule podcast that the incident happened while on holiday with his family.
After he and his brother started chatting with two girls, one of them cruelly called him "fat.", leaving him deeply upset. Danny has made a positive turn-around and embarked on a healthy lifestyle focused on fitness, determined to leave behind his image as "the funny fat guy." He revealed: "I was like, 'I'm done with that. I want girls to like me, I want girls to love me'." His personal trainer, Harry Smith, shared before-and-after snaps celebrating Danny's progression on Instagram.
His caption read: "He was bang on his calorie target every day. "This is really hard to do, especially when life happens.
There was a couple of weeks where we had to work around some really stressful events too but he still nailed it. He followed a flexible diet where he could have treats but he still made sure he ate all his fruit and veg every day." Expressing newfound confidence and satisfaction in his body, Danny reflected: "Since working/training with Harry Smith, I feel like I'm starting to get in the best shape of my life.
