BBC Breakfast viewers woke up to a new hosting duo on the famous red sofa following Dan Walker's exit. However, it was a familiar face as Sally Nugent was joined by Jon Kay.
It was an emotional day for Sally on Tuesday (May 17) after the departing Dan almost pushed her to tears with his gushing leaving speech. The show had been running as normal up until the last part where attention turned to giving the presenter a fond farewell as he left to join Channel 5's revamped 5 News.
There were best bits, a reunion with former co-host Louise Minchin who left last year after 20 years with the BBC, and an appearance from his Strictly Come Dancing partner Nadiya Bychkova via video link.

Jon joined Sally on the sofa to bring BBC One viewers all the latest news headlines. It is reported the Beeb have a string of people who are will be stepping in to cover Dan for the time being, but no full-time replacement has been announced yet with the job currently being advertised.
But it seems that fans watching from home would like the 52-year-old journalist to host the BBC show full time. Sharing a selfie of the pair in the studio, Sally tweeted: "Morning everyone," and the comments were soon flooding in in support for Jon.
