Concluding their frantic hour-long search for treasures, they admitted they 'loved' the dog statue, which they managed to snag for £75 following some negotiation. It was their priciest purchase, and expert Catherine Southon thought it could fetch a profit with the right buyer.

However, just as their find was about to be auctioned, host Eric Knowles delivered an unfortunate update. "Next up is your Beswick dog. Actually, the issue is the fact that the tongue on your dog has taken a little bit of a chip," he explained.
Eric told the crestfallen duo that the damage occurred while the dog was 'in transit.' The figure had initially been valued at £40 to £60 before the mishap, reports the Liverpool Echo.
He reassured them, "In a situation like this, the auctioneer has done his research and it's been agreed that despite what you paid that the minimum you will get will be £60. If it makes more, then you will get more."
Contrary to hopes, the damaged piece flopped at the auction, eventually being sold for just £12. Viewers took to X, formerly Twitter, to voice their grievances about the treatment of items when they're not in the spotlight.
One individual lamented: "Another broken in transit. Who on earth do they get to carry the goods? ". Another asked: "Once again, an item was damaged in transit.
