‘Project Silence’ Review: A Collapsing Bridge Becomes a Dog’s Dinner in a Silly But Serviceable Korean Disaster Flick

Jessica Kiang Fogs, dogs and toxic smogs are just the headliner adversities hurled at the motley band of misfits determined to survive Kim Tae Gon’s “Project Silence,” by no means a classic in the Korean action-thriller pantheon, but a good enough stopgap for a rainy Sunday until the next one comes along. Set on a cataclysm-prone Seoul highway bridge with suspension cables, like those of our disbelief, destined at some point to snap, Kim’s screenplay — co-written with Park Joo Suk and Kim Hong Hwa — cleaves so close to disaster-movie formula it’s hard to believe it needed three human screenwriters to gin it up. Given that its most lunatic flourish is the addition of dozens of slavering government-engineered superdogs, maybe it was partially generated by algrrrithm.

Beyonce and JAY-Z Buy Most Expensive Home Ever Sold in California: Report

Beyonce and JAY-Z just bought themselves a picturesque view of the Pacific Ocean — and, on a clear day, quite possibly heaven — after reportedly dropping a whopping $200 million for an opulent compound in Malibu.According to, who first broke the news, the power couple plunked down the small fortune (by their standards, anyway) for the 30,000-square-foot home in an area known to rich folks as Billionaire's Row. The outlet reports the purchase price makes the sale the most expensive real estate ever sold in California, surpassing the previous record of $177 million. For the record, the most expensive piece of real estate ever sold belongs to the state of New York, where someone bought a New York City apartment for $238 million. As for Bey and Jay's new digs, it's a beaut designed by Japanese master architect Tadao Ando, whom the outlet also reports is currently designing Kanye West's house, which is a stone's throw away from Jay and Beyonce.

Former Korean government employee fined for trying to sell BTS member Jungkook’s lost hat

BTS’ Jungkook online.Earlier this year, it was reported that a former foreign ministry employee, whose identity has been withheld, had been indicted for attempting to sell a hat belonging to the BTS member for approximately KRW10million (£6,600) after he had left it at the government building. On Wednesday (May 3), The Korea Herald reported that the employee had been fined KRW1million (£660) by the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office earlier that day on charges of attempting to sell the BTS singer’s lost hat online.A previous report by the media outlet states that the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office also intended to return the hat to Jungkook, though the prosecution, idol and his label have yet to provide further updates. The former employee had allegedly uploaded a photo of the hat on an online second-hand market and claimed that Jungkook had left it at the foreign ministry building after visiting to apply for a new passport. In the post, they added that the hat had been reported as lost property for six months before they decided to claim ownership of it. The listing was met with backlash, leading the employee to delete the listing and turn themselves in to the police.Shortly after this, the prosecution stated that HYBE had confirmed to police that the hat did belong to Jungkook.
