Oscars 2021 is bigger, better and diverse! The 93rd Academy Award nominations were announced on Monday, 15 March and presented by and Nick Jonas. While there are some hits and misses, there are also quite a few firsts.
Nomadland and for Promising Young Woman, both of whom were , alongside Regina King for One Night In Miami… Though King was not nominated by the Academy, her film did garner a nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay for Kemp Powers. With this nomination, Zhao becomes the first woman of color to be nominated in the directing category.
