Zack Sharf Digital News Director British politician and broadcaster George Galloway appeared for an interview on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” and claimed that Fiona Harvey, the woman who claims she is the real-life inspiration for the stalker character Martha in Netflix’s “Baby Reindeer,” stalked him during the 1980s. Harvey is currently suing Netflix and demanding $170 million in damages due to the show’s depiction of Martha. She also went on Morgan’s talk show herself to deny the stalking and allegations that were depicted in the Netflix series.
“I saw her sitting in this chair and was riveted by your interview, which was a masterclass,” Galloway told Morgan during their interview. “Piers Morgan at his best. It took me right back to the 1980s, when stalking was up close and personal.
There was no emails or texting. You had to either phone someone on their landline or turn up at their door. That’s real stalking.
That’s what she did to me.” Galloway said that Harvey was “forever on my case” and called her an “obsessive woman.” “Everywhere I turned she was there,” Galloway continued. “At first I thought that she fancied me. But it turned out that she fancied my job.
She was a relentless and physical, up-close-and-personal stalker of mine. I am ready to testify.” When asked how much she stalked him, Galloway answered: “Everywhere I turned, she was there…she called me hundreds of times and she showed up probably hundreds of times.” Variety has reached out to Harvey’s legal representative for comment. In Harvey’s lawsuit against Netflix, she alleges “brutal lies” were told about her in the “Baby Reindeer” series.
